Peaceful Chaos (Project 4)

What is peace? Everyone's peace is different. Some peace is silent, some peace is loud. But when all peace is brought together chaos ensues.

Thanks to Eric Steiger and Alexandra Smaldone for helping me record the videos.

Project 3 - T-shirt Design

I have always had an obsession with elephants. Whether it is collecting them or using them in art, they have always been something I've liked. For this design I took an elephant and transformed it into a whimsical flower. I chose teal for the first set of petals for two reasons; first I thought that grey and teal complement each other well, and I wanted to use grey to signify the wrinkles of the elephant, and second I think teal elephants are pretty cool (I actually made one that you can see under the sculpture page). The choice of the purple came from the fact that my favorite color is purple and I also think it pairs nicely with teal. And finally I chose the raspberry color for the third set of petals because I liked how it paired with the other two.

Inspiration Project

This piece technically has two inspirations. The first is Kyle Crawford, who created the first Mayday Parade album's cover art. His art inspired John Ryan Solis's cover art and other cover arts for the band. Solis's take was the inspiration for the drawing that is used as the base drawing. I do not have the source images for the drawing, but they were a picture of Derrick Sanders (the lead singer of Mayday Parade), a cemetery in Washington, DC, and a stormy sky. So using the drawing I created, I added my version of the iconic umbrella.
